Pinecrest Gardens hosts its farmers market every Sunday from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon at 11000 Red Road, and it is one of the most consistent plans of South Florida: organic produce from the Miami farms, eggs, honey, cheese, flowers, coffee and bakery, all under the shade of the old trees of the park. This Sunday, September 13, is the regular turn of the week.

What the tables bring

The aisles mix the harvest of the moment with the everyday staples: mango and avocado when the season says so, herbs and greens all year, plus the stands of prepared food and coffee that turn the walk into a full morning. The market is also a social hour, an open air square where the neighbors of Pinecrest and surrounding towns bump into each other.

A family market with the garden included

Because it stands inside Pinecrest Gardens, the market gives families a double destination: the tables in the morning, the garden paths afterward, and the lawns for the children to run. For residents, it is the definition of a good Sunday in the area: pick the week's fruit, meet a friend, and leave the morning feeling like a full day.
