Nights of Lights Miami opens Friday, November 27, and runs through Thursday, December 31, at the Miami-Dade County Fair and Expo Center, 10901 Southwest 24th Street. The fairgrounds transform into a walk-and-drive holiday light festival with millions of synchronized LED lights set to music, a tram ride through the displays, Santa's Village and a petting zoo, plus an outdoor ice skating rink and holiday movies.

A family favorite returns to the fairgrounds

The event is open in the evenings, roughly 6 to 11 at night, and closes on Mondays and Tuesdays, so weekend evenings are the busiest window. The tram ride and the synchronized light tunnel are the moments families remember, and the ice rink, available for an extra fee, gives children who missed the Homestead rink another chance to skate before the holidays.

Plan the trip

Tickets are sold through the official event site, and buying ahead avoids the line at the gate. Arriving at opening gives you the brightest displays with the smallest crowds. For families new to the area, a December evening at Nights of Lights is a warm introduction to Miami's holiday spirit.
