The Hollywood REAL Jazz Festival brings two free days of live jazz to ArtsPark at Young Circle, 1 North Young Circle in Hollywood, on Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21. Friday starts at 5 in the evening and runs into the city's annual tree lighting at 7, followed at 8 by the Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble. Saturday picks up at 1 in the afternoon with a full lineup, and the evening continues with Downtown Jazz After Dark on stages along Hollywood Boulevard and Harrison Street. Saturday's roster includes vocalist Nicole Yarling, vibraphonist Warren Wolf, bassist Chuck Bergeron and pianist Kandace Springs, with Ron Carter and his Foursight Quartet taking the stage at 5:30 in the afternoon. Ron Carter, one of the most celebrated bassists in jazz, closes the park program. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
