Broward's public water parks offer slides, lazy rivers, and splash playgrounds at county prices. They are seasonal, so the calendar plans the day.

Broward's public water parks are the summer answer for families in Miramar, Pembroke Pines, and Hollywood: real slides, lazy rivers, and water playgrounds run by Broward County at admission prices far below the theme parks. Because they are seasonal, the calendar decides the day more than the weather, and the same parks stay open with playgrounds and trails when the water features close.

Paradise Cove at C.B. Smith Park

In Pembroke Pines, Paradise Cove at C.B. Smith Park, 900 North Flamingo Road, brings twisting water slides, a plunge pool, a lazy river, and water playgrounds to a 299-acre county park. The county water park season typically runs June through mid-August, with weekend openings around Memorial Day, so families plan the summer days early and check the park calendar.

Castaway Island at T.Y. Park

In Hollywood, Castaway Island at T.Y. Park, 3300 North Park Road, splits its water playgrounds into two zones: one for little kids and one for older kids, with a pool and wading pool nearby. The park also holds one of the county's larger campgrounds, so a water day can become an overnight for families that like to camp near the coast.

Splash Adventure at Quiet Waters Park

Farther north in Deerfield Beach, Splash Adventure at Quiet Waters Park, 401 South Powerline Road, is a shallow interactive playground with slides, tunnels, and a dumping bucket, the gentlest of the county's three water parks and a favorite for younger children. County season passes cover C.B. Smith, T.Y., and Quiet Waters together.

The free community splash pads

For a quick afternoon without admission, municipal splash pads do the job: ArtsPark at Young Circle in Hollywood, Miramar Pineland at 3600 South University Drive in Miramar, and Plantation Woods in Plantation are three free options. Hours change with the season, so check the city page before packing towels, and note that they are splash and play, not swim, spaces.

The day pack

Water shoes, sunblock that holds up in the water, towels, and a pop-up shade turn any of these into a full day. When the season closes, the same parks keep playgrounds, lakes, and trails open all year, which is how Broward families stretch one park membership across all three seasons.
