The Pembroke Pines Festival of the Arts returns to the Charles F. Dodge City Center on Saturday and Sunday, November 14 and 15, from 1 to 8 at night each day. Fine artists and local makers fill the plaza with paintings, ceramics and handcrafted pieces, live music carries across the grounds, and the weekend keeps a calm, browsable pace.

Artists, makers and live music in one plaza

The draw is the range: original paintings on easels, pottery finished by hand, and pieces you can hold before you decide. Musicians play between the booths, so the weekend feels like a fair rather than a market. For anyone new to the area, it is a welcoming first look at the city's arts program.

An unhurried weekend, close to home

The City Center is located at 601 City Center Way, central enough that the drive is short from most of Broward. Arrive in the early afternoon to browse with room to breathe, and let the evening music close out the day. Between the weekend market, the live sets and the seating in the plaza, it holds plenty for a relaxed family outing.
