The Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, billed as the largest Caribbean food festival in the United States, returns to Miramar Regional Park on Sunday, November 8, from 2 to 10 in the evening. The park at 16801 Miramar Parkway fills with the smoke and aroma of authentic jerk grills, plus culinary demonstrations, competitions, live reggae and dancehall, and cultural performances that run into the evening.

Food is the headliner

Jerk chicken and pork straight off the grill are the draw, joined by festival bread, rice and peas, and the sides that make Jamaican cooking so distinctive. Cooking demonstrations and competitions give visitors a look at the craft behind the flavors, and the vendor lineup means there is always a second plate to try. Thousands of attendees make the trip each year, so arriving early and bringing cash for the vendors is the practical play.

A cultural day out in Broward

Miramar is home to one of South Florida's largest Caribbean communities, and the festival is a chance for families to share food, music and tradition without leaving Broward. Live reggae and dancehall keep the energy going into the evening, and the park's wide lawns give children room to move. It is the kind of event that turns a Sunday into a memory.
