The 13th annual Flanigan's Rockin' Rib Run 10K takes over Miramar Regional Park on Sunday, November 15, starting at 7 in the morning. Presented by Runner's Depot, the race follows a USATF-certified, flat out-and-back course through Miramar, and the field is capped at 4,000 runners. A Kids Dash gives younger runners their own moment, and the post-race spread of ribs and refreshments is part of the tradition.

Fast, flat and family sized

The flat out-and-back route makes the 10K a solid choice for first-timers and a fast day for regulars, and the park setting keeps spectators close to the action. Runners can add the Kids Dash for the little ones, and the race's registration perks, wine samples and post-race ribs, give the morning a relaxed finish. Registration is online in advance, with packet pickup at the park on race morning.

A Sunday morning in Miramar

Miramar Regional Park at 16801 Miramar Parkway opens early for the race, and the 7 in the morning start means the run is done before the day heats up. For families, the morning pairs a spectator spot on the course with the park's playgrounds afterward. It is a community race with a hometown feel, the kind that makes a Sunday feel productive before most of the city wakes up.
