Bubble Run Miami returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday, October 3, from 8 to 11 in the morning at 1 Ralph Sanchez Speedway Boulevard. The event is a non-competitive 5K, a course up to three miles, where runners walk, jog or dance through towers of colorful foam instead of chasing a finish time. Participants start in waves a few minutes apart, wear white, and leave covered in bubbles. Registration runs about fifty-five dollars, with a free-registration offer advertised on the event site, and children four and under enter free.

A family 5K without a stopwatch

The design removes the pressure that keeps families away from race days. There is no timing chip, no qualifying time, and no one cares how fast anyone crosses the line. The foam stations turn the course into a playground, and the speedway's wide infield gives the whole morning room to breathe. Children too young for the route can still take part in the bubbles near the start, which makes the day work for a mixed-age family.

Practical notes for a smooth morning

Arrive in white and bring a change of clothes, since the foam does exactly what it promises. The speedway sits minutes from Homestead and Florida City, which keeps the drive short for South Dade families. Pack water and sunscreen, set aside time for the lots, and expect an easy, silly morning on one of the most recognizable tracks in the country.
